Making the Work Work—From Story to Telling

Coming up with a set of communication guidelines for advertising is like laying tracks in front of a moving train. Everything keeps changing. New landscapes, new technologies and new audiences have turned yesterday’s revelations into today’s clichés and, if you’re lucky, tomorrow’s kitsch.

Nevertheless, Robert Campbell attempts to lay down a few timeless tracks from the perspective of a writer, producer and director. He talks tactics for capturing attention, and how those tactics shift from medium to medium. From humor to storytelling, creative to production, working with impossible talent to working with impossible budgets—it’s everything you wanted to know, mixed with stuff you wish you hadn’t heard.

Pick a song and choose WHO YOU WANT TO SING IT. We don’t care how bad your singing is, it’s for a good cause. Don’t want to sing? Don’t worry! VETOES can be purchases at the door. All guests get one free karaoke song for themselves or to make some else sing. Additional songs are $5 each. Permanent vetoes are $50.
